So what exactly is witchcraft?
Witchcraft can be explained scientifically, sort of, and spiritually, sort of.
Neither of those explanations though fit the bill in the overall scheme of things.
Now, most of you know that I am not a true fan of Modern Wicca.
Do not get me wrong, Modern Wicca is something that those that wish to follow can use to follow those that wish to learn.
there is nothing new taught in Modern Wicca.
Just as the Churches have stopped seeking as well.
the best thing that could happen to the christian church is that we discover other intelligent life in the galaxy.
Then, the leaders would have to re-evaluate everything (like they did when christ started teaching)
Elder Wicca, which is the term we will use for those of use that wish to learn and maintain the old ways, is always about learning more.
So, How does a spell truly work?
We have a few kinds of Spells:
For now I will give them various nicknames.
M&M spells - Micro and Macro - Melts in your motuh.....
Wish Spells - Make a wish and blow out the candles....
Spirit Spells - Boo!
Divination Spells - I see in my crystal ball.....
wish spells are the most common, and a vast majority of Modern rituals are truly wish spells.
In the most basic of terms, a wish spell is when the practitioners wish for an effect that they can not directly affect.
World Peace is a common one that seems to be asked for (Be careful what you wish for - Assuming you succeeded in world peace, it may be because the only things left in the world are cockroaches)
M&M is when you use a piece of something to represent a whole - For example the healing of an oak tree by pushing into an Acorn, or the cursing of an enemy by using their hair.
Spirit Spells are where you try to reach out to someone in the after life / other existance.
and divination is where you try to see the future....
Wish spells are the ones I will explain first.
You have ingredients, you do a ritual and when you are finished, you walk away, not focusing on what you sent out during the ritual.
In order to understand what is truly happening, we must understand who and what we truly are.
Energy.
We are nothing more than energy.
Scientifically speaking everything is energy.
Matter is energy slowed. (ask Einstein)
Thought is chemical based energy
this energy radiates out from us.
Now, I have seen all the debates on the accuracy of Kirrilian photography and the ability to see auras, etc...
To date, it has never been proven that you can see an aura, nor has it been shown that Kirillian photography catches an aura in the image.
Kirilian photography does have a scientific explaination behind it, but the explanation tends to favor an aura....
The first though is much more important.....
Akido is a mystical form of martial arts. the concept of which is that we all have Ki (or Chi as in tai Chi) which is an energy field, and that if you manipulate that field you can make yourself stronger and your opponent weaker.
I was at an akido demonstration once where a 16 year old kid, throw a man from the audience, without touching him.
sort of.
I knew the man, and knew that he was not a plant. So that left only what the kid did.
In essence, he manipulated the movements of the person to the point where he was no longer in control and either flipped over, or fell on his head.
So, being the adventurer I am / was. I decided to try this and investigate how it worked.
It took a few tries to replicate what the kid did, and eventually, I had it down where I could do this as well. So then came time to experiment. By changing an angle, I could accomplish the same feat faster. but it did not work everytime.
If I changed in the other direction it did not work at all.
this gave me the basis to analyze more, and eventually I figure out what was happening.
From an Akido point of view - The person focus on the action he had to perform was so intense that his energy was pushing out ahead of his body. this left his body weaker, and when the person performing then passed through the Ki sphere of the body, The body had no defense, the energy had to follow, and this force the person to become off balance and flip.
long explanation to say - He pulled the persons energy and hence his body into a throw.
So after that, I delved into this new art.
I saw at this point that it had a lot to do with what I was learning in reference to auras.
I am not an Akido master by any stretch of the imagination. However, I have become a Master of Ki.
Ki is an energy field that surrounds you. It can be manipulated.
It is affected by thoughts and by other's Ki.
when you perform a wish spell, you are in essence placing thought in the Ki and detaching it to the ether to do its thing.
In order to do this, you need to hav e focus, in order to get that focus you use key words / phrase and symbols.
and that is the basis of a ritual.
and hence how a spell works.
Lose you?
yeah, Me too.
Why do you light a candle?
It is a symbol.
But of what?
depends on the color right?
but how do you know which color means what?
Someone told you?
Pavlov's dogs!!!
First understand what A candle truly represents.
Earth? Air? Fire? Water?
All four actually.
It also represents Symbiosis as well.
oh, Why all four?
well, Fire is obvious, Air is almost Obvious (smoke)
earth and Water -> Wax.
but, all of that means nothing to the Normal Practioner because all the see is "Green Candle - Money"
What Green Candle Means life?
Oh, Green Candle means love?
Green Candle means.....
Truthfully, the Green Candle Means whatever you want it to mean.
it is a symbol.
when working in a coven, everyone has to agree on a meaning, when working solo, it does not matter.
The symbol focuses the mind on the concept. the concept gets into the energy field and the energy field goes into the Ether....
So having said all that, It is time to re-indoctrinate you....
